You can visit any of the reliable sites in order to get the study material for the NIFT entrance exam. The official website may also contain previous question papers for the test. There are many books specially designed for the test by foremost publishers. You can purchase these books from leading bookstores. Some sites also conduct preliminary tests prior to the main exam.

Hello........NIFT has Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. I DON’T KNOW ABOUT PREPARATION FOR PG COURSES. Undergraduate courses are for people fresh out of school. At least thats the minimum requirement.

The best two books to crack NIFT entrance exam are as follows.......









The syllabus is as follows.......

NIFT UG has Two Papers.
There is NO INTERVIEW for NIFT UG level and
NO PORTFOLIO required at all

1. FIRST PAPER IS GAT PAPER (100 Marks) GENERAL ABILITY TEST.

only MCQ questions will come

1. Quantitative Ability (Any 10th Standard Mathematics teacher can teach this portion- around 20 Marks)
2. Communication Ability (Any 12th Standard English teacher can teach this portion- around 20 Marks)
3. English Comprehension (Any 12th Standard English teacher can teach this portion- around 20 Marks)
4. Analytical Ability (Any Logic Teacher can teach this portion – around 20 Marks)
5. General Knowledge ( Can be learned by GK books – around 20 Marks)

SECOND PAPER IS CAT PAPER (100 Marks)(CREATIVE ABILITY TEST)

NO REAL DESIGN QUESTIONS ARE ASKED IN NIFT OR NID PAPERS AT UG LEVEL AT ALL.

ANY FINE ARTS GRADUATE or FINE ARTS TEACHER CAN TEACH FOLLOWING.

ALL FINE ARTS GRADUATES ARE TRAINED FOR VISUALISATION, CREATIVITY, OBESRVATION POWER ETC. In fact normal memory sketching requires all above mentioned skills. If you have cleared Intermediate Drawing Grade Exam, you have 60% completed syllabus for CAT portion of NIFT UG exam.

NIFT paper pattern has changed this year in NIFT Entrance Exam 2013, General Ability Test (G.A.T.) scores now 30% (earlier 40%) & Creative Ability Test (C.A.T.) has 50% weightage (earlier 40%).

Rest 20% is for situation test, which will be the second phase after clearing the 1st phase of GAT & CAT.

I being a NIFTian will suggest you to devote 1-2 hours on a regular basis. It is advisable if you follow any good study material. You don't have to follow any regular classroom course for it.

For your reference I'm hereby attaching a SAMPLE TEST PAPER of NIFT (U.G. Design).
