Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Village Administrative Officer (VAO) Examination
abbreviated as TNPSC-VAO exam syllabus is enclosed on the attachment...
plz check for it..
and i think the exam date would be on 20th February 2011...

VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers which is conducted by TNPSC.

If you have 12th standard OR graduation degree then you are applicable for VAO exam but you age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule But you must know the Tamil language.

Application fees for general and OBC Category is 125/- and For reserved category fees are 50/-

VAO Syllabus 2012:

VAO Question Paper will come in 2 languages that of Tamil and English for 300 marks.The Total VAO Exam Qualifying marks are 90.

1.General English.
2.General Tamil.
3.General Knowledge.

Total Time:3 hours.
Total Marks:300.

TNPSC VAO Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers. For the recruitment of these officers an examination is conducted by the TNPSC.

Out of the total number of seats some seats are kept reserved.
~For Women: 30% of the seats
~For Ex-service men: 5% of the seats
~For Physically challenged people: 3% of the seats

1. You need to have an SSLC certificate. Even if you have higher qualifications you will still be asked to show this certificate.
   
2. Age should not be lower than 21 years. For general category candidates the upper age limit is 30 years.
   
3. For the reserved category candidates there is age relaxation. The upper age limit for them is 40 years.
   
4. You will be asked to show medical certificates to prove your medical fitness as they expect that only mentally and physically fit people are giving the exam.
   
5. You need to know Tamil language very fluently. If you do not know then a separate Tamil exam needs to be given and pass marks needs to be secured in it.

Exam Pattern:-

Questions for the exam will come from the following sections:-

--General Knowledge
--General Tamil/General English.

Selection procedure is solely based on the written exam. Other factors like district chosen by the candidate, reservation of vacancies of the district in question and other such things. The first paper is bilingual and you will get the option to answer in either Tamil or English. The second paper is optional where you will get the option to state your preferences in the application form itself.

150 marks have been allotted for each paper and you need to complete the whole paper in three hours. Minimum 90 marks is needed to qualify.
