TANCET is an entrance examination conducted every year by Anna University on behalf of Tamil Nadu Government for admission in the professional post-graduate programmes in various Government/Private universities/institutes in Tamil Nadu which include Anna University-Chennai, Anna University-Coimbatore, Anna University-Trichy, Anna University-Tirunelveli, Government and Government aided Institutes and Government Quota seats in private Institutes. TANCET is quite an easy examination.U can appear.Its well and good.U need some basic english and mathematical(problem solving) knowledge.U update urself in TANCET website.Attempt for online model examinations.It will help u a lot.

TANCET test is conducted by the Anna University, Chennai, for admission to postgraduate courses in the state of Tamil Nadu.

The eligibility for this test is a bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream. Two steps are to be followed for admission in the PG courses- appearing for the Entrance Test in the relevant discipline and applying for admission to the concerned authorities.

Registration for the entrance test can be done through the following modes:

1)Spot Registration
2)Online Registration

Candidates can register online and they should enclose the filled-in downloaded application form, copy of class X or equivalent exam mark sheet, and the required demand draft. The SC/ST candidates of Tamil Nadu need to enclose an attested copy of the community certificate

Date of Entrance Examination: May End, 2010
Availability of Application Forms: April 1st week, 2010
Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: April 3rd week, 2010

then after you can apply,
the last date of submission of application form is april 2010,

i heard that there is no rank for TANCET. we get admission through counselling and 40 to 45 will be a very good score out of 100 for getting in CEG,guindy campus

i depends on the gate score u have got. if it is a very good score then u will be on the safer side. my friend got 2300th rank in gate and now he is studying IC engines in college of engineering guindy.

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is an entrance examination conducted every year by Anna University on behalf of Tamil Nadu Government. TANCET is for admission in M.Tech/M.E./MBA/MCA/M.Arch/M.Plan programs. The candidates appearing in this entrance test need to cover the mentioned syllabus in order to qualify the exam and get admission in various institutes for various postgraduate programs. There are plenty of books available in the market to get better knowledge about all the streams which help to gather best knowledge about their syllabus. TANCET is the most popular examination for aspirants inTamil Nadu who wants to pursue Post Graduation in professional courses in Tamil Nadu. The forms will be available directly from various centers as notified in the advertisement and hall ticket will be issued on-spot. The form can also be obtained by post by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form. Candidates can also download the form online from the website www.annauniv.edu. Pattern for Examination:

All the Entrance Exams will be of 2 hours duration consisting of multiple choice questions. MBA and MCA Entrance exam will have 100 questions each while ME/MTech/M.Arch/M.Plan entrance will have separate compulsory and specialization sections. Candidates will have to choose the specialization section depending on their qualifying degree. There will be negative marking in all the exams for incorrect answers.
