Degree Programmes in Tamil Nadu for the year 2010-2011 offered at University Departments of Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy, Anna University Tirunelveli, Govt. Engineering, Arts and Science Colleges, Govt. Aided Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges, and Govt. Quota seats in self-financing Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges / stand alone Institutions. Some Universities and Self-Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of TANCET 2010.

Other State candidates can appear for the entrance test but, admission is subject to the eligibility conditions of the admitting authority / University.

TANCET ELIGIBILITY
MBA: A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree with 10 + 2 + 3 or 4 years or a pass in any degree with 10 + 3 years diploma + 3 years pattern.
MCA: a) A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration (10 + 2 + 3 / 4 years pattern) in any discipline with core Mathematics (or) Business Mathematics at +2 level or A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree with 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern with Mathematics at Diploma level or Mathematics or Statistics* as one of the subjects at the degree level or A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration (10 + 2 + 3 pattern) in any discipline with Mathematics or Statistics* as any one of the subjects.
M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.: A pass in i. B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree programme (or) ii. B.Pharm / B.Sc. (Agri./Forestry/Horticulture/ Fishery) degree programme (or) iii Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, . which are prescribed. b. Candidates with section ‘A’ & ‘B’ certificate holders and other similar certificate holders of professional bodies or societies (e.g. A.M.I.E.) recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India are considered to be equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Degree programme only with 2 years industrial experience in the relevant field after successful completion of the course. An experience certificate is to be produced by the candidate.
*Business Mathematics, Business Statistics, Algorithm and Numerical Methods, Numerical and Statistical Methods, Probability and Statistics, Probability Mathematics, Numerical Methods, Algebra and Probability Mathematics, Quantitative Techniques, Computer Oriented Numerical Methods, Engineering Mathematics, Mathematics for Management, Operations Research, Discrete Mathematics, Computational Methods, Bio-Statistics, Allied Mathematics, Allied Basic Mathematics, Algebra-Analytical Geometry of three dimensions and Trigonometry, Business Statistics and Operation Research, Quantitative Methods of Business.

Candidates who have passed the qualifying degree course / appearing for the final semester / year examination of the said qualifying degree course during April/ May 2010 may also apply for TANCET 2010.
The candidates have to find out the eligible qualification for admissions to MBA, MCA and M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan degree programmes from Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy & Anna University Tirunelveli and other Universities before appearing for TANCET 2010.

Those who are appearing for final year / semester examination of the above qualifying degree in April / May 2010 can also apply for TANCET 2010.

TANCET SYLLABUS
TANCET EXAM FEES
Application Form is common for all the three entrance tests. Candidates have to submit only one application.

The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.300/- (Rs.150/-for SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate) as entrance test fee for any one of the Programmes either (1) M.B.A. or (2) M.C.A. or (3) M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./ M.Plan.

If a candidate desires to appear for more than one programme, for every additional programme, he / she has to pay Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu).

REGISTRATION FOR THE TANCET ENTRANCE EXAM
(1) SPOT REGISTRATION: Hall Tickets will be issued to the candidates who come in person to the following Co-ordinating Centres with a copy of 10th Std. mark sheet and 12th Std. mark sheet (or 3 years Diploma Certificate) and cash or Demand Draft (A single DD is sufficient for one or more programme) for the required amount towards Entrance Test fee.

REGISTRATION THROUGH INTERNET:

Candidates who have completed their UG/PG Degree or in the Final Semester/Year are eligible to apply for TANCET 2010.
To Apply INTERNET click “ I Agree” to open the Internet Application Form.
All the fields must be entered. No field should be left blank.
After Entry of your details in all fields click “Submit” button; a confirmation page will appear, check all your details shown on the page if any corrections click “Cancel” else click “Ok”.
Note down your Application Number for future reference……. then Click “Ok” button. Important instructions to candidates screen will appear. Read all the instructions carefully and then click “Print”.
After taking print out paste your passport size photo, sign in the appropriate place,enclose a valid Demand Draft for required fee amount and send it to ” The Secretary TANCET 2010, Examination Centre, Anna University Chennai ,Chennai-600 025 on or before 26-04-2010, 5.00 p.m.
Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of “The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University Chennai” payable at Chennai-600 025
Tamilnadu SC/ST Candidates only,must attach a photocopy of their Permanent Community Certificate with the application.

So, Please Wait For Few Month, When The Notification Was Declared It Will Updated In The Official Website Of Anna University. But, I Hope The Dates Are Near By Same As Previuos Year Dates.

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is an entrance examination conducted every year by Anna university on behalf of Tamil Nadu government.

It is for giving admissions into M.Tech/M.E./MBA/MCA/M.Plan/M.Arch Programs.

For the current academic year, TANCET 2011, the notification has not been announced yet.

In the previous year the examination was conducted on 29 & 30th of May 2011.

This year too we may expect the same dates for the exam or a slight change in the dates.

However the tentative dates are as follows
