The Bar Council of India has introduced a age limit i.e 20yrs for 5yr LLB course and 30yrs for 3yr LLB course.

The eligibility criteria for LLB is that one should have a

Course Outlook

The course duration of LLB law course is of three years.

For L.L.B you have to qualify the exam like C.L.A.T..

ELIGIBILITY FOR C.L.A.T:-
> Pass 12th with minimum 50% marks from any stream...
For ST/SC candidate minimum 45% is require..

you can take admission to 5 year LLB course after HSC.there are some reputed college that take admission through entrance called as CLAT commol law admission test.you will need to appear for that if you want good college for law.otherwise you can apply foe any law colleges with respect to their recruitment according to notification.

Bar Council of India has declared the age limits for the LLB course is
For five years course the maximum age limit is 20years,
For three years course the maximum age limit is 30years.

Yes there is a age limit for the LLB course. Earlier there wasn't any age limit but recently Bar Council of India introduced it. The decision was challenged in the court but the decision was refused to be overturned.

The Bar Council of India believes that having no age limit gives unfair advantage to some people who don't necessary sees law as their preferred career option. Generally people change their career later and pusue LLB, which according to Bar Council of India is not fair with the candidates who prefer law as their first career option.

Therefore my introducing age limit, Bar Council of India has given priority to candidates who firstly want to have LLB as their career option. The age limit set for the LLB course is 30 years. Only SC/ST candidates are given relaxation in upper age limit.

If you have missed the age limit then there is no way to seek admission in LLB course. You can however pursue law through correspondence but that degree in not valid as per Bar Council of India.


Eligibility

1. Candidate should have bachelor degree in any discipline.

2. He must secure 45 percent marks in graduation.

3. SC/ST student must secure 40 percent marks.

4. The age limit is 30 years for LLB.

5. Age limit is relaxed by 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.

Yes there is age limit in order to take Admission in LLB Course.

In order to take Admission in LLB Course,you will have to appear in CLAT(Common Law Admission Test) Exam.

In order to appear in this Exam,you will require the following Eligibility:-

Educational Qualification:-

>>Your minimum educational qualifcation should be Intermediate/10+2 pass out in any stream from recognized board/university.

The age limit for the : I] 3 years law is 30 years (35 years for SC/ST)
II] 5 years law is 20 years (22 years for SC/ST)

Is this age restriction to be followed across all states because apparently Uttrakhand , Punjab do not not follow this age limit...whereas UP, Delhi are following this striclty?
