Is there a Direct Recruitment for Income tax officer? SSC conducts exams only for selection of Income tax Inspectors

As per my knowledge you have to go through the entrance exam which is conducted by the staff selection commission.For an Income Tax officer, the minimum academic qualification required is a bachelors degree, in any discipline, from a recognized university.The eligible age for the post of Income Tax officer is between 18-27 years.
The examination which you will need to crack, to become Income Tax officer is known as combined graduate level examination and is conducted by Staff Selection Commission.

Staff Selection Committee or SSC conducts the exam to recruit income tax officers. Therefore there is no direct entry scheme for this exam.

=>The eligibility criteria for this exam includes a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

=>Age limit: 18-27 years. There is age relaxation of upto three years for the OBC candidates and upto five years for the SC/ST candidates.

=>You can apply for the exam both online and offline. The cost of the application form is Rs.100.

Exam Pattern:



Physical Criteria:

In case of males height should be minimum 157.5 cm. Chest should be 81 cm and expandable upto 5cm.

In case of females height should be 152 cm and weight should be 48 kgs. There is upto 2.5 cm of height relaxation and upto 2 kg of weight relaxation for the female candidates.

Apart from this you should complete walking for 1km in 20 minutes and cycling for 3 km in 25 minutes.

8 years for Departmental candidates of General / OBC Category
13 years for Departmental candidates of SC/ ST category

Educational Qualification:- Matriculation or Equivalent

No of Vacancies:- 15

Sports Eligibility:-

Appointment can be made of a sportsperson considered meritorious with reference to the following criteria:-

Sportspersons having represented

i) A State or Country in a National or International Competition in any of the games / Sports as mentioned in Para - 6

ii) Their University in the Inter University Tournaments conducted by the Inter University Sports Board in any of the games

iii) The State Schools Team in the National Sports / Games for schools conducted by all India School Games Federation in any of the games/ sports

iv) Sportsperson who have been awareded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive.

Selection of the Candidates:- The applications will be scrutinized and eligible candidates with reference to the requirements mentioned above will be Interview-cum-personlity test. On the basis of their performance in Intervoew-cum-Personality test eligible candidates will be shortlisted and such shortlisted candidates will be require to appear in Ground / Proficiency Test for finalselection.
