I'm from commerce background currently persuing BBA . If i want to apply for merchant navy on 10th basis , although not for marine engineering but for some other post under merchant navy , is it possible?

yes ,you are eligible,you can apply the navy form an give the exam,
but consider your age should not be more tan 17.5 year.

yes it is possible to get into merchant navy on the basis of 10 board marks.........you will be admitted for the deck cadet in the company for which you have applied...........

you can't apply for merchant navy on 10th basis.
first, you have to complete your 12th exam then after you are eligible to sit for exam liker
NDA which is conducted by UPSC and for more details regarding it visit:

on the basis of secondary education, you can apply for the following

Rating job nature qualification

Deck rating responsible for cargo handling and 10th
general maintenance of ship.

Engine rating assist engineering officer in 10th
maintenance and operation
of engine and associated equipment

well... a graduate from commerce background having good command over accountancy and computer knowledge can also apply in merchant navy for a Purser/ship clerk .

Hey dear why do you want to do so...

Its not a Good dicision, niether its possible. For entering into Merchant Navy After Matriculation, the age limit is 21 year and since you are persuing your BBA I dont think you are within age limit.

However, even if you are within age limit. then did you know what type of Jobs are available for Matriculation candidates. They can find job only in Cooking, Waitering, Saloon Rating departments.

It's not wise decision.

However, if you are eger to get there, you can get there after completing MBA (Hospitality ) you job there will be as same as you find in Hotel, Resorts and Resturaunts but the thing is that you will be working in 5 Start Cruise. But since vacancies are lesser only few those who have placement facility in there institutes.

In Merchent Navy various jobs but on the basis of 10th they provide IV class job.

This is not for You because you r doing a BBA(Professional Degree) .

On the Basis on my mind u do MBA After BBA then you get a Gazzeted Officer job post.

You are in b.b.a so why are you thinking about merchent nevy be carefull on your study and work hard their will be lots of options for you after b.b.a

After 10th, its not possible to join merchant navy, so, i will suggest
you just concentrate in your study. You are now doing good course
just complete this course and prepared for MBA, there are very
wide career in management field..............

yes it is possible,u have to give there entrance,which is conducted every year.

As you are pursuing your BBA, i would better prefer if you so much eager to opt for merchant navy then go for Maritime law, Maritime Commerce.This are the two option left with you beside maritime ENGINEERING.Few of the professions are related to this sector as ocean management, logistics,supply chain management, personnel recruitment ,ship-management, marine lawyers, policy makers, media ,marine tourism.

So, i think from this following profession mentioned above you can choose any one of it.

sir i am a student of class 11 i have passed 10 class from cbse board my d.o.b is 11-11-1995 i want to go in merchant navy after having this education what work will be given to me if i am selected in this job i came to know that "sunder marine acadamy" whose head quater is at mathura they have assured us to give 100% placement they say that it is an ISO 9001-2008 certified acadamy there website is www.suhdermarine.com please tell me it is a certified academy or not.

So, dont go for it being a ISO 9001-2000 certified Academy is not enough to persue a course for better career prospect.

Yes you can apply for that but your age should not be more than 20 years (on 1st September of the entry year): those belonging to the SC/ST have this rule relaxed by about 5 yrs.

ya sure you can apply for you can apply for merchant Navy after completing your BBA.

Just you have to fill the form which is for degree holders and this form you will either get in newspaper like Times of India or you can contact your local form distributer shop.

You are young so, complete your BBA first. Even if you get into Merchant Navy,on basis of 10th you will get a low scale job. So, graduate and find a better job.

you have to fill the foms of merchant navy at 55% marks in 10th.
also you need to take on their exam.
they take a physical test too.

Also, if you want to join merchant navy on the basis of your 10th results, then kindly be informed that you will not get a respectable post, but posts such as cook, saloon, deck cadet(cleaning) etc..
Therefore, it is not advisable for you to consider merchant navy as option.
