i want to know about basic difference stipend and scholarship and yes if i am qualified in the gate i will getting stipend but what about ,scholarship and scholarship is given by govt. Of india because of sc,st -caste, ebc obc ( non creamy layer ) or any reservation and stipend getting it is achievement then what about scholarship please reply. Thank you.

stipend is generally given to the sc,stc,obc and others so called undeveloped cast's student in india by the govt to financially help them. and scholarship is for those meritorious student who has got outstanding marks in some board exams,that also a sum of money given by the govt. or some private institute in the interval of one or two months during the time period of the course completing by the scholarship holder.
if you pass gate and qualified for a govt.institute or any private insatitute then you will be able to get a scholarship of 5,000/rupees per month during the whole 24months(the duration of the course). that's a lot of money for your equipments . best of luck.

Stipend means a company, that call you for job and you are selected. Them company will said to you to remain in company for 1year 2year on the basic salary given by company is called stipend.
In stipend you are handle by another.
While scholarship is the money that given to you due to your good ability.
And scholarship is only given on subject study.

my gate score in gate 2010 is 492 with mechanical paper. Will i get any scholarship?

Dear sirs,
I have passed GATE exam & have admitted to the college.I am open category student.I have secured my admission in the college through the seats left vacant due to the absence of category student.I have got admission against VJNT cast seat.
Now the college administration says that I can not get the stipend as the stipend will be paid to only those category student only.
Is it true? Plz help me.........

stipend in mtech depends on caste or rank

hi...the stipend which one gets after the clearing of gate exam and getting admission in an mtech course does not depend on cast or religion,it entirely depends on the performance of the student and the attendance record ,a gate qualified student to get his stipend has to maintain an cgpa of more than 7 through the mtech course and if it drops then the stipend is stopped until when the cgpa again does not come above 7,also the attendance should be more than 75% to get the stipend from the government,also the stipend amount for an mtech student is 8000/month which is considered sufficient to meet his expenses of books and other things

will i get good salary after doing mtech from iit

i m a 2nd year mtech student. i have been admitted through gate and is taking scholarship of rs. 8000/month. we are assigned a work load of 8 hours per week (taking labs of btech students). it is said here that our scholarship depends on this workload and if we miss any load we won't be provided any scholarship. a project guide is also assigned to us who used to get his phd work done through us. on the scholarship form GUIDE'S signature is must other than head of department, mess incharge and the hostel office. so its whole discretion of the guide and head of department whether to sign it or to delay it.
my question is that.....is the scholarship awarded to us as we have qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or for taking the workload?
do we have to take this workload so that we can avail scholarship?

A scholarship may or may not include a monthly income which will help the student meet his living expenses., a stipend goes beyond that to cover living expenses, books, etc. They'll still pay you while you're working for them, though possibly not as much as they would if they didn't pay for your education.

There no difference between the stipend and the scholarship.if you qualified the GATE then u will get the stipend from the govt.

Sir, i am an OBC i have GATE SCORE of 27.33 and a TANCET score of 34.72 i am a B.E.( Civil) student.
I am intrested in doing M.Arch Real Estate Development or any M.E. course in Anna University.
Am i eligible for a stipend or scholorship?
