can u plz tell me exactly what amount of mhrd scholrship is given 2 m-tech students who hv GATE score?does this amount vary for different institutions or b the same if i get admission in any IIT as well as any universty(eg,calcutta university) in m-tech course?

MHRD gives Scholarship for all those students who has crossed the minimum marks fixed by the GATE exam authority. for M.Tech Stipend based on GATE score.

for example previous year the minimum marks for general category students is 25.all students getting 25 or more than 25 will get scholarships.

but the amount varies institutes to institutes.the scholarship amount is different for different IITs.

it depends upon city also.normally this amount is about 9,000 per month.

sir, In my college admission in M TECH is scheduled delay by 1 month(28-August 2008 instead of July 2008).then for how long duration am i eligible to get stipend (for GATE qualified).my college is not giving me the stipend for the month of July and august......please help me..... thank you...

Sir, I am a sponsored candidate doing M.Tech. and I am gate qualified also.. My query is that Is there any provision in MHRD for giving stipend to sponsored candidates for their PG programme? Sir, I learnt that (may be I am wrong) in IIT's and IIM's sponsored candidates are also eligible for such stipend scheme as per MHRD norms for QIP. In NIT's only gate scorer admitted is eligible and NON-gate candidates were given stipend as per norms while Gate scorer holder candidate but sponsored is treated non-eligible for the stipend. As such sponsored candidates has social responsibility over and above academic load for further study also. Thus extra expenditure can also takes place for that.So, Respected Sir, it is just my kindly request to you that Is there any stipend scheme for such a sponsored candidates in NIT's? please reply, thanking you sir

the minimum MHRD scholarship amount for M.Tech stipend based on GATE score is Rs. 8000 per month.

but it's vary from institution to institution. but you will get the minimum amount irrespective the institution.

it is also vary depending upon your the project. it may be very big amount if your project is good enough.

the scholarship is given for 24 months for your master degree.

the amount is varied from 8000/- to 14000/- p.m.

minimum a candidate will get 8000/-p.m.

no its not true.as per rule the stipned is 8000/-pm at IITs.but it under revision.may be increse.

scholarship amount depends on universities.at IITs ans IISc they paid 8000/-pm.but NITs(except few) paid only 6000/-.I heard JU,Kolkata and CU also paid 6000/-pm.

yes friend if you are a GATE qualified candidate then you can get a stiphned of rupeese 5000/- from privet colleges.

though you are late admitted student then you are not eligible for stiphner for those 2 months.because you are not attained the classes.

stiphned is generally issue for 24months but next you will receive for 22 months.

it depends upon universities.maximum limit is 8000/- .IISc and IITs are paid this amount for HTTA,it is fixed.but except some NITs all institutions are paid less than the amount.

it is not fixed for all other university.so clerify from respective institutions where you sought admission.

no there is no seperate scholarship for S.C gate qualified candidate.but in the time of admission at IITs there is a tution fee waiver scheme avaliable against produce the documents.

sir,
im a gate qualified student in 2009.i got 321 gate score with 83.68%.i joined in RV clg of engg.,bangalore.In this clg they wil give stipend after completion of one year with total one year amount.Now i completed 1 year of m.tech with 76% aggregate under vt university.Our college is telling that gate scholarships wil give only to the 10 members per branch of 18 students under general/obc category in private colleges.Im the 11th member by gate score merit and our college is telling that im not eligible for stipend.Is i true?Sir im highly dependent on stipend.Pls reply me.....Is there any procedure to apply individually? Im waiting for your reply...........

Though you are doing M.Tech through GATE 2011 then you are eligible for stiphned,no seperate forms are issued from MHRD,please contact your college authority for this.

There is no proforma,if you are getting admission through GATE qualification (Or on the basis of GATE score) then your college will be responsible to give you scholarship.Contact to your college authority.

i think sponsored candidates are not eligible to get the MHRD scholarship for study in M.Tech irrespective of college. so you will not be able to get the scholarship as a sponsored candidate in NIT also.
