see i want to become a best archaeologist but the problem is i don't know how much time it will take and as it is from arts so i have heard from many people that there is no scope in arts so what do you think i should do to leave my dream or live my dream..

Don't think in that way there are many successful archeologists who has faced the same confusion in their early stages.

If you have deep interest in archeology it provides you good living what you're expecting .

Good pay, Nice opportunities etc.,

You should study graduation in History/Archelogy after 10+2, then you need to apply for PG diploma or M.A/M.Sc in various fields of Archelogy.

Duration of these courses will be in the range of 1-2 years.

you can PG diploma course in Institute of Archelogy based on a written exam and interview.

Specialists in Archeology can work as Numismatists and Epigraphists.

Archeologists can also get government jobs through examinations held by UPSC or SSC.

Also they can be hired by private environment monitoring companies, defence services , museums ministry of information and Broadcasting, and in Cultural centers and historical division of the ministry of external affairs.

an archeology degree holder can work as

->tourist guide
->heritage manager.
->interpreter.
->Resource person of trip organizers in trip industry etc.,

also can become teachers through SLET and NET
they can also create self employment as historians,linguists and surveyors.

in abroad also the job opportunities are huge.

the pay scales of archeologists depends on their qualifications

the basic pay of assistant archeologists employed with archeological survey of india is between 9000 and 15000.

it can be varied tremenderously upto 50k with experience and qualifications.
