B.Tech in Food Technology and Biotechnology are two Science related specializations having good career scope and job opportunities for the candidates.

It's not that Food Technology is better than Biotechnology. Both the courses having its own job opportunities for the candidates. Hence I would suggest you to choose the one as per your interest.

Having completed B.Tech in Food Technology, you can find job opportunities in
-Catering Establishments
-Hospitals
-Nutritional Consultants
-Hotels
-Food Industries
-Rice Mills
-Teaching
-Researchers etc.

As the demand for processed foods and packaged foods is going on, there we will be good career scope in the Future.

After completion Biotechnology course, you can find job opportunities in
-Chemical Laboratories
-Pharmaceutical Companies
-Hospitals
-Diagnostic Centers
-Fermentation Industries
-Food Processing Industries
-Teaching
-Textile Industries etc.

Since Biotechnology is a established one, you can easily get job opportunities if you have good subject knowledge and if you have completed the course from a top college.

If you are not interested to work in lab environment, then I would suggest you to opt for Food Technology course.

You can expect a salary in the range of 2-5 Lakhs initially after completion of any of these courses.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
