Default Re: What is the difference between True and Sesignated Router?

A designated router (DR) is the router interface elected among all routers on a particular multi-access network segment, generally assumed to be broadcast multi-access.
Special techniques, often vendor-dependent, may be needed to support the DR function on non broadcast multi-access (NBMA) media. It is usually wise to configure the individual
virtual circuits of a NBMA sub-net as individual point-to-point lines; the techniques used are implementation-dependent.
For more details refer the link "https://www.techopedia.com/definition/25105/designated-router".
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
