What does GP rating mean and which is the course?
what mean gp retting and what is in this course...please tell me what is it

GP rating is usually referred to as General Purpose Rating and candidates who join merchant navy in the GP rating are recruited as deck crew as well as engine crew. To be eligible for the GP rating, you will have to undergo a pre-sea training for a period of months. To be eligible for it, you must have passed 10th exam with a minimum of 40% with Maths and Science as major subjects along with English in which you must have scored 40%. i got the calling latter for the post G.P Rating from safe sea academy of marine from jamshedpur and i rode the latter i note that in the latter it written the course duration is 3 month but in the application it written 6 month what is the actual duration for the G.P Rating course

Sir i wana join gp rating course n i m medically fit n I don't have any eye problem but before 3 month i m smoker last 2 year may b some time it my affect my course of gp rating please reply Hsajidshaikh@ gmail.com
