you can join indian army using two option;-
1-NDA EXAM
nda exam is conducred by upsc twice in a year.

The minimum eligible age to write the exam is 16 1/2 years.
The maximum age limit is 19 years.
You must have qualified the +2 level of examination of a recognized board to be eligible for it.

2-CDS EXAM;-

CDS EXAM STANDS FOR COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE WHICH IS CONDUCTED BY UPSC TWICE IN A YEAR.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS;-
-For Indian Military Academy/Officers Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university.
-For Indian Naval Academy : Degree in Engineering.
-For Air Force Academy: Degree from a recognized university with physics and maths/B.E

AGE LIMIT;-
-Indian Military Academy: 19-24yrs.
-Naval Academy: 19-22yrs.
-Air Force Academy: 19-23yrs.
-Officers Training Academy: 19-25yrs.

The following are the height standards as set for the national defense academy exam and also the combined defense exam.

-The male candidate must have attained a minimum height of 157.5 cm for joining army.

-There is a relaxation of 5 cm in the minimum acceptable height for candidates of North eastern region, Gorkhas, Garhwal and Kumaon.

-The minimum acceptable height for candidates from Lakshadweep is 155.5 cm.

-If a medical board certifies that the candidate will reach the minimum height standards till the end of the training then a relaxation of 2.5 cm can be given to the candidates who wish to join the army.

-The female candidate must have attained a minimum height of 152 cm for joining army.

Besides the height standards there is also some weight standard in proportion to height. The following is for NDA exam

Some other important physical standards are -

A candidate must not be suffering from severe pyorrhoea. The candidate must have good teeth with a minimum of 14 dental points.

The ear, throat and nose must be in good condition without any disease. The maximum allowable audiometric loss is +20 db in frequencies between 250Hz and 4000 Hz

The candidate must not be suffering from AIDS, hernia , diseases of internal organs, piles etc.

Required Qualification:

The candidate should be citizen of india.

The candidate should complete the graduation from any recognized university. There is no minimum percentage required to this exam.

The candidate age limit should be between 16.5 to 19 years. There is no upper age relaxation for the other categories.

The male candidates and unmarried candidates eligible for this exam. Girls are not eligible for this exam.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service. This exam conducted by upsc twice in a year.

To eligible this exam you can satisfy the below criteria

the candidate should complete the graduation from any recognized university. There is no need to minimum percentage of marks.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible. And girls are not eligible.
