Hello sir i have passed 12 standard with 60 percent with pcmb. and i am interested to join indian army but my height is 5"3inches how i can i join please help me

Educational qualification & Age requirements for Indian Army

>> You should have completed 12th in any stream from recognized central/state board or school. You can join Indian Army after 12th through NDA exam conducted by UPSC. For NDA, your Age must be in between 16.5 to 19 years & you should be an unmarried male candidate.

>> Or you can also join Indian Army agter competing graduation in any stream from recognized Institute/university. You can join Indian Army after graduation through CDS Examination conducted by UPSC. For CDS, your Age must be in between 19 to 24 years.

>> You can also apply for this when you are appearing in final year of above such program. You must be having Indian Citizenship.

10+2 pass unmarried make candidates with physic , chemistry & Maths with a min of 70% marks and age limit 161/2 to 191/2 years

The candidates must have a 6/6 eyesight in each eye with or without glasses and min height of 157.5 cm with chest expansion of 5cm ,
Candidates have to clear total training period of 5years including 1year of basic military training at indian military academy , dehradun and 4 years of technical training at pune secunderabad.

The minimum height required for joining in Indian Army

1. For Female is 152cm

2. For Male is 157cm.

You can join Indian Army in two ways:- NDA and CDS.


NDA - NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for entry in to three wings of NDA i.e. Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian male within the age of 16.5 to 19 years of age having either appearing for the final 12th exam or passed from any stream from a recognised Central/State Board with good physical fitness is eligible to apply for NDA.


CDS - COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II for entry in to:-

Indian Army Academy
Indian Naval Academy
Indian Air Force Academy
Indian Officer's Training Academy

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appeared for the final graduation degree exam or passed from any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years can apply for CDS.

INDIAN ARMY A UNIQUE AND DIGNIFIED CAREER
Recruitment in the Army is broad based. Every male citizen, irrespective of caste, class, religion and domicile, is eligible for recruitment in the Army, provided he meets the laid down age, educational, physical and medical standards.
Recruitment in the Army is carried out through out the year through an open rally system. The recruitment programme is published in local newspaper, two weeks prior to the conduct of the rally by the concerned ZROs. The process of screening and enrolment is as follows :-

(a)Checking of documents.
(b) Physical measurements.
(c) Physical fitness test.
(d) Medical examination.
(e) Written examination.
(f) Preparation of merit list.
(g) Enrolment and Despatch of selected candidates in order of merit to Centres.

HEIGHT REQUIREMENT
Height requirements, according to the U.S. Army medical disqualification list, provide minimum and maximum height for both men and women. Men must be between 60 and 80 inches, or 5 to 6.5 feet tall. Women must be between 58 and 80 inches, or 4.8 to 6.5 feet tall.
WEIGHT REQUIREMENT
Weight requirements follow a standard chart that takes gender, height and the age groups 17 to 20, 21 to 27, 28 to 39 and over 40 into account to determine maximum weight limits. New recruits, or non-priors, have a slightly higher weight limit than those with prior military experience. For example, if you are a new recruit in the 17 to 20 age group and 60 inches tall, your maximum weight limit is 120 lbs. if you are female and 139 lbs. if you are male. In contrast, if you have prior military service experience, your maximum weight limit is 116 lbs. if you are female and 132 lbs. if you are male.

These two examinations are NDA & CDS . both of these exams are conducted by UPSC every year.

* You must have completed your graduation from any recognized college / university.

* You must be unmarried and under the age group 21-30 years.

* You should be physically fit .

* The minimum height required is 157.5 cms and minimum chest required is 72 cms with an expansion of 5cms also required.

Now , as per your academic qualifications & age , you can go for the one which suits you , i.e., th eligibility criteria of which exam you fulfill.
