what a job i can get after my completing diploma in fisheries ?

There are many areas under which you can work after completing diploma in fisheries. The main areas are discussed below :

Farm management :

This contains tasks like site selection, construction of ponds, monitoring, feeding, water quality management, selective stocking, hazard analysis.

Hatchery Management :

In this area work consists of stock collection, feeding, rearing, spawning in artificial conditions, larvae stage, oxygen packing, transportation to the farms etc.
It is very important area as there is shortage of manpower in our country in this field because Aquaculture is brand new in our country. Companies have to recruit people from foreign countries, mainly from Philippines and Thailand.

Harvesting and Processing Management :

It is also very important because in this area products are prepared for exports after harvesting and slackness may lead to high loss.

Fishery Inspector :

Also you can get job as fishery inspector. Job of fishery inspector is to transport fishes to different fishery stations.

Fishery Worker :

They are responsible for catching, breeding and cultivating fish and other animals. Preparation of net, equipments, vessels, delivery, salt fish and transport to other organisation is their business.

There are private as well as public sector companies that perform task of breeding cultivation and management of fishes and other animals. Most of the companies reside near coastline.

Research :

This field deals with development of new and better varieties. Many research projects are done in Indian Council of Agriculture Research.

Most of the students have employment opportunities in fishery farms, fish process units, hatchery management etc. Also you can apply in Krishi Vigyan Kendra and fisheries department in states.
