Educational Qualification requirement:

For finding government jobs in the position of Fisheries Scientist, candidates must possess any of the following educational qualifications:

Masters Degree in Zoology

Masters Degree in Marine Biology

Masters degree in Oceanography

Masters Degree in Fisheries Science

Post Graduate Diploma in Fisheries Science

Experience:

Job profile of Fisheries Scientist:

According to the notification issued by the Fisheries Survey of India, candidates will be responsible for participating in fishing cruises and will be responsible collection of requisite data during survey cruises and for cruise leadership. They will also be responsible for preparation of cruise reports and other reports pertaining to operation of survey vessels. Their other responsibility includes identification of fish and conduction of biological investigation for quantitative and qualitative assessment of fish stock in space and time.

Their job responsibilities might include outdoor fieldwork on commercial fishing boats to intensive lab studies and computer modeling. They play a crucial role in the sustainable management of the commercial fisheries and recreational fisheries of the nation.
