The acrosome plays a vital role in the whole process of reproduction. Every egg of an animal is coated with a cell which restricts the sperm to enter into the egg.The head of sperm of an animal is covered with an organelle. The Organelle contains an enzyme which helps the sperm to get inside the egg by digesting the egg cell coating. This particular organelle covering the head of the sperm is known as acrosome without which the sperm can not pass through the coating and enter into the egg for reproduction. |
