Those who can complete their course study in ‘Chattered Accountancy’ can take up the role of Chartered Accountant. Pass in 12th is the basic qualification required to join the course. The course is offered by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. You have to send application through post in order to seek admission. Detailed information can be obtained from the portal of ICAI.

If you have completed 12th standard only then you can apply for the Chartered Accountancy course. Before that it is not possible to do so. Once you have completed 12th standard you should appear for the Common Proficiency Test.

This test is the first stage of Chartered Accountancy course. You will have to clear the Common Proficiency Test in order to go ahead and take admission for the IPCC course.

The Common Proficiency Test hs 4 subjects that are divided into 2 groups. You will have to score 30 percent marks in both the groups to clear the Common Proficiency Test. The 4 subjects in the test are mentioned below:-

1. Fundamentals of Accountancy

2. Economics

3. Mercantile Law

4. Quantitative Aptitude

If you have completed graduation then it may not be required to appear for the Common Proficiency Test. Graduates are given exemption and therefore may not require to appear for CPT instead take admission for the IPCC.

CPT Exemption

1. You should have 55 percent marks in Commerce graduation.

2. You should have 60 percent marks in non commerce graduation.

The next step would be to register for the IPCC course. You will have to register with ICAI and study for 9 months after which you can give first group of exam for IPCC.

Once you have cleared the first group, take admission for the 3 years mandatory articleship. During which you should complete second group of IPCC as well.

You will then continue with the articleship until 6 months are left. The total duration of the articleship is 3 years. When only 6 months are left to complete it, you will be eligible for the Final course.

Hi,

Chartered Accountant is professional course conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants In India.

CA can be done after 12th , any stream students can do this course .

Graduates can also apply for The Same.

Steps how to do CA :

Ca consists 3 stages:

CPT / Foundation course.

IPCC/ Intermediate course

Final / Article ship training

Candidates first register in CPT exam ( Common Proficiency Test)
, this exam is compulsory to all , after qualifying this stage you will proceed forward for IpcC:

Second steps to register in IPCC ( Integrated Professional Competence Course ) ,this is intermediate course.

Graduates can directly register in IPCC If they have following elligibity:

For Commerce : 55% marks must.

For Non Commerce Candidates :
60 % must.

They not need to give CPT.

After completing IPCC , Final exam is held of 9 months, and together you must have to complete Artificalship Training .

After completing all these stages you will become compelete CA.

Best of Luck.

Dear Friend

To become chattered accountant after completing 12th,you need to do the CA course. To get admission into the CA course, you need to attempt the CPT entrance exam. The CPT entrance exam will be conducted twice in a year. After qualifying in the CPT exam, you can join in the IPCC course,i.e.second stage of the CA course. After completing the IPCC along with the articleship training, you can go for the Final CA course.

Dear Girish,

Its nice to see that you want to become a Chartered Accountant. Only those candidates can pursue the Chartered Accountancy course who have completed 12th in any discipline from any recognized board.

The Procedure to become a chartered Accountant course includes :

1) CPT [Common Proficiency Test]

2) IPCC [Integrated Proficiency Competent Course]

3) Articleship

4) Final Exam

Those candidates who have completed 12th , have to qualify the Common Proficiency Test first.

If you pass the Common Proficiency Test only then you have the chance to get admission in the IPCC Course.

The Duration of the IPCC course is 9 months after which candidates have to appear for the IPCC Exam.

Completing the IPCC Exam will allow you to go for the Articleship in which you have to work for a tenure of 18 months under a chartered accountant.

Completing the Articleship , the candidates have to pass the final exam conducted by the ICAI [Institute of Chartered Accountants Of India].

Passing the final exam will lead to representing you as a chartered accountant.

Those candidates who have not appeared for the Common Proficiency Test, can also go for the Chartered Accountancy Course if they fulfill the below mentioned conditions :

1) The candidates must have completed B.Com from any recognized college/university with a minimum of 50% marks. OR,

2) The candidate must have completed graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university with a minimum of 55% marks.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

CA stands for charted accountant of india, it is conducted by institute of charted accountant of india ,

minimum qualification required for ca is 12th pass from any board,

steps for ca :

1. cpt
2.ipcc

itt training, articleship training of 2.5 yr

3,ca final

12th passed students have to pass cpt for entry in ca and graduates an directly apply for ipcc , as per latest notification of icai graduates with commerce background are allowed direct entry in ipcc if they have more than 55% marks in graduation ,

and other graduates require 60% for direct entry in ipcc with exempting cpt,

so you have these two ways for entry in ca,

if you have passed 12th then go for cpt or otherwise have more than the required marks in graduation then go for ipcc,

good luck
