Yes to study in NIFT you have to give the NIFT Entrance Examinations. The full form of NIFT is National Institute of Fashion Technology. Those of you who have an inclination towards fashion for them this is an apt course no doubt. NIFT have got their centres in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Raebarelli, Bhopal, Kanpur, Patna and Shillong.

Following are the courses which NIFT offers:-

• Bachelor Programs: B.Des (Accessory Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Leather Design, Textile Design), B.F.Tech (Apparel Production)
  
• Master Programs: M.Des (Design), M.FM (Fashion Management), M.F.Tech (Fashion Technology)

Eligibility Criteria:-

B.Des. (Fashion Design):-

• You need to to pass higher secondary examination or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  
• If you have a 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education then also you are eligible.
  
• To apply for this program your age should not exceed the upper age limit of 23 years.

B.FTech. (Apparel Production):-

• You need to to pass higher secondary examination or its equivalent from a recognized institution with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
  
• You should have the pass marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics at 10+2 level.
  
• If you have a 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education then also you are eligible.
  
• To apply for this program your age should not exceed the upper age limit of 23 years.

Selection Procedure for B.Des:-

This program consists of the following stages which needs to be crossed:-

• General Ability Test (GAT)
• Creative Ability Test (CAT)

Selection Procedure for B.FTech:-

This program consists of the following stages which needs to be crossed:-

• General Ability Test (GAT)
• Managerial Ability Test (MAT)

General Ability Test (GAT):-

This test will comprise of various sub-tests as given below:

• Quantitative Ability
• Communication Ability
• English Comprehension
• Analytical Ability
• General Knowledge and Current Affairs
