How to score high marks in CLAT 2016


I am a girl studying in cbse XI at Berhampur, Odisha right now. Please advise how to score high marks in CLAT-2017.

CLAT Exam Pattern:-

For the exam questions will come from the following sections:-
  • English (including Comprehension)
  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs
  • Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability)
  • Legal Aptitude
  • Logical Reasoning
-Number of Questions – 200
-Total Marks – 200
-Marking Scheme – For each correct answer you will get one mar and for every incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted from the total score.

Tips to score good marks in CLAT:-

-The english section comprises of comprehension and grammar. You will get asked to spot wrong sentences and correct them, word meanings, fill in the blanks and so on. So to strengthen your grammar start reading your grammar books once again as well as English newspaper and English magazines on a regular basis.

-For GK section stay abreast of everything that is happening around. Browse through the latest GK books and watch news daily.

-The mathematics section covers elementary Mathematics taught till class X. So get hold of a good basic maths book and practice daily.

-While practicing mock tests, take note of the problems that you’re facing. Keep a track of the amount time as well since time management is also very important.

-Lastly dont forget to revise whatever you have studied before.

  • G.K – GK Today and Jagranjosh for Current Affairs. GK Today Quizzes and Pearson/Lucent Concise GK Guide for Static GK.
  • Legal Aptitude – ‘The Pearson Guide to the CLAT’ by Harsh Gagrani for Legal Reasoning. ‘Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning’ by A.P. Bharadwaj, and ‘The Ultimate Guide to the LLB Entrance Examinations 2016’ for Legal Knowledge.
  • Logic – ‘A Modern Approach to Verbal Reasoning’ by R.S. Aggarwal and ‘Analytical Reasoning’ by M.K Pandey.
