my question is about SAT. what is SAT? and how many exams are there in SAT? and what is SAT 2?
since i am planning to go america after completing my high schools in an year. so there universities and institutes require SAT exam results. so i need to know briefly what is SAT. waiting for your reply.

The SAT Reasoning Test is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States. The test has three 800-point sections: math, critical reading, and writing.


The SAT II is a set of more than 20 different tests focusing on specific disciplines such as English, History and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Foreign Languages. Each Subject Test lasts one hour and consists entirely of multiple-choice questions, except for the Writing Test, which has a 20-minute essay section in addition to a 40-minute multiple-choice section.

The Scholastic Aptitude Test, technically called the SAT-I, comprises of a general test assessing critical reading, quantitative reasoning and writing skills. It is accepted for U.S. College Admissions.
The SAT I comprises of a paper-based general test, assessing verbal, quantitative and writing skills. Most US Universities require SAT Scores for admissions. SAT I is a three-hour 45 minute Test, multiple choice test. it has a validity of 5 years. SAT is scored out of 2400: a separate score of 800 each for Mathematics, Writing and Critical Reading.
Each SAT II Subject Test is of one-hour duration, scored out of 800. SAT II is only required by top colleges. SAT II is conducted for the following subjects: Literature, American History and Social Studies, World History, Math IC, Math IIC, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and different languages like Chinese, German, French etc. Check with your college whether they want it.

is SAT II a compulsory exam for all those who have taken SAT I or can i get an admission into any college using only the score of SAT I
