Biotechnology is one of the fastest emerging field and has a very bright
future for students.
Biotechnology is a field of applied biology that involves the use of living
organisms and bioprocesses in engineering, technology, medicine
and other fields requiring bioproducts.
Modern use of similar terms includes genetic engineering as well as cell
and tissue culture technologies.
Biotechnology stream has a distinguished research related topics in diverse
fields like agriculture, animal husbandry, pharmaceuticals, textiles,
chemicals, genetics and environmental sciences.

Well let me tell you that there is lots of scope in Biotechnology but its slowly rising up and its gradual

Lots of Biotechnology industries are getting started in India. Lots of companies are showing interest and so they are eager to setup companies in India. This indeed increases the scope of the field.

Biotech students can get a chance to get jobs in Industries, pharmaceuticals etc


Some of the top companies offering jobs for biotechnologists are Biocon, Hindustan lever, Bivcol etc

So go for it

You will need a good score to get a good institute otherwise it will be tough

I think Biotechnolgy courses most people prefer to do outside india but Although people often look for study abroad programmes for studying biotechnology, the scope of biotechnology in India is also enormous.
It is a field that involves engineers, biologists, and many other such professionals. According to a survey conducted by Ernst and Young, Asia is set to become a hotbed for biotechnology related research and development and India is supposed to emerge as a destination which will see a notable expansion in the biotechnology sector.

as you are interested to study on Biotechnology then it is better to take admission in B.Tech of Biotechnology. because every year many biotechnology engineering graduate student are recruited. in India and abroad Biotechnology is a developing subject. in future scope will be very high.

i will suggest after 12th to take admission in B.Tech Biotechnology in a good institution. after completion of B.Tech go for M.Tech through GATE score. then go for either job. or if interested go for research field or teaching profession.

Biotechnology have great scope in both private and public sector.
courses are Bsc and Msc in biotechnology and B.Tech in boitechnology.
I would suggest you do M.Tech, because you have a related background in Btech, so it'd be easier to continue and be done with it. And the market looks really really bright for graduates in Biotech.

what ever the answers given above won't get stand till someone do specialization in particular branch of biotechnology like micro, genetica, biochem, molecular, etc etc, this because the term biotechnology is very vast and bachler in biotechnology or even master in biotechnology whether its is B.Sc B.Tech(BE) or M.Sc M.tech course in jus biotechnology make jack of all trade but master of nothing. which make tough to get role specify job in industry like biotechnology graduate will always get 2nd preference when compare to graduate in Microbiology, food technology, genetics etc.

so i must say doing biotech is good but on later stage doing masters in it must and geting specialization in particular field of biotech can only gone make u rock ..in industry.. so plan for atleast 5-7 year of studies to suceed in biotechnology field.

this what im sharing is the experience of my own and many of biotechnology engineering graduates I came around.

Dont go for biotech career.... not even any life science course.... No jobs no growth... better go for engineering course atelast u wil get a job and handsome salary evn completing ur btech
