What is the scope in Pharmacy field in India?

B. Pharm, M. Pharm and the more recently started Pharm D. degrees are gaining importance in India. Although currently, only few Chemical Industries, Pharmaceutical companies and the Research & Development divisions of major healthcare networks like Pfizer, Fortis, Apollo etc. employ Pharmacy graduates & postgraduates, the scope is bound to get enhanced in the future, with more and more organizing realizing the need for professional experience in handling pharmacy. Plus, the Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association IPGA, is demanding recognition to the degree for government jobs too.

Pharmacy candidates can find employment opportunities in hospitals and medical dispensing stores, in pharmaceutical industry, in the manufacturing, analytical and research and development divisions.

Hi. Untill an unless you have strong liking for this field, dont opt it. I am repending for doing b.pharm. Basically the salary which is paid in industries or academics is very less compared what we have invested for our course work. Also the job vacancies are very less. Better option is for engineering or any other field else than pharmacy. The person lands up with frustation and micery...all the best..IF possible try abroad in USA or canada..

Pharmacy is not a bad field as all see. It will only be beneficial if you scored a good percentage in institute and have done a management course from good institute.
It is also an respectful job as scope in agriculture is more in India.
so if you are trying to get in it it is not bad.

i m doing b.pharma but now i feel that this degree is no importance or reputation in our society as a doctor or as engineer degree 's . as per my knowledge this is the hardest degree but overall result after doing this degree is work under doctors as a servant ....
