Is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY?
Respected sir,
I want to do M-tech in VLSI design but i had a doubt that Is there a better life in this feild. I want to do in Satyabhama Engineering College. How about the campus recruitments in the college. Please, tell me is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY better to do. Please, help me in sorting this problem... Thanking You. |

Re: Is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY?
Both are well know and emerging fields and the scope is also good in both. So chosing any one according to your interest will be fine. However i would like to tell you that VLSI has little scope in India as for now. Dont know after 4 years. Maybe it will improve in India.
Nanotechnology is a new field but there is tremendous scope in it as these days everything is done using concepts of nanotechnology. So you cant deny the fact that Nanotechnology is also great You know i am also confused along with you whether which is better. I think you better reserach a bit on these 2 fields and try to see what interests you. If you like VLSI then do that or Nanotech then dont hesitate to accept it. Dont worry about scope. If you are good in your field then you will yourself build scope Best of luck! |

dear friend
better u do your MTECH from govt college rather doing from private college like satyabhama for this you have to qualify for the gate exam it would be better to do mtech in nano technology rather VLSI ok all the best |

Re: Is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY?
According to me VLSI is having the higher weightage as it is the main branch of the electronics.
It is very vast, and leads to good job in multinational companies. Nano technology is also a good branch but it is something that is if your not getting VLSI then you should go for Nano technology, but if you are getting VLSI then VLSI is much better option. Best Of Luck! |

Re: Is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY?
I think nanotechnology will be a better option.
Its well known that both of these fields are new and are emerging these days, though nanotechnology is established a little bit now in india. VLSI design is taught to engineers doing electronics engg.So the placement of a student doing just VLSI design will be bleak. Consider this fact and then decide... The choice is yours i can just tell you that both of these have a bright future... |

Re: Is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY?
Nano-technology is a rather new field of studies as compared to VLSI technology. However, opportunities in both of them are immense.
India is slowly catching up in the field of VLSI Mixed Analog circuit design technology. Companies such as Sankalp Semiconductors, Wipro VLSI to name a few recruit MTech engineers. And the graph of growth in VLSI industry is linear in the start and exponential as you get experience. Nanotechnology shares the fate as Bio-technology. Both of them are evolving but no one knows when will they evolve as much as they can provide ample opportunities to enggs in India. IITs, IISc and some NITs are good. Quality MTech studies in India is very limited. So make your choice. |

Re: Is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY?
hi friend,In these days both have got their own importance.if you are interested in electronis you better to take vlsi and if you are interested in nano materials like structure of atom and want to prevent many hazardous things in enviromental society then you better to go for nano technology.

Re: Is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY?
Nanotechnology is something you need to deal with at atomic or molecular states while vlsi goes for creating integrated circuits by combining thousands of transistor-based circuits into a single chip.
Better go for nanotechnology as its the emerging sector.India has got scope in it as every industry today is prying to attain it.10 years from hence India will be a developed sector in it. Career in it is very bright as compared to VLSI as everything you do in VLSI will lead to nanotechnology only as it is adopted in every sector and every research work.Size of pc, mobiles, every other gadget is shrinking at a fast rate thanks to nanotechnology. In the end it matters where your liking lies.Thats the only thing which will make you survive. |

I have been selected for M.TECH in VLSI & Microelectronics Technology at Jadavpur University which is 3 years course.
Also I am in waiting list( position-WL-5) at Nano tchnology at the same University. I am interested in electronics. So which course I will go for study? |

Re: Is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY?
Dear friend,
Both of these two courses are really bright for building a good future.. And these are totally different from each other.. VLSI involves designing chips and integrating them in large scale... Whereas nanotechnology is another flourishing science related to molecular structure of matters... The study on both courses start from the graduate level... After completing graduation one can take up these courses in the Master's level... So don't worry about scopes....If you work hard you have opportunities in any field.. All the best! |

Re: Is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY?
hello dear
see, VLSI designing have more demand than NANO TECHNOLOGY. the jobs opportunity in VLSI is very good in than nano technology. so it will be better to MTech in VLSI. you will get valueation in VLSI designing in India as well as well as in abroad. all the best... |

there are lots in the field of vlsi.
the various emerging fields of vlsi and it takes a lot of proffesional in this fields nano is good but,yet you have to spend good money to study it. |

Dear Friend,
Both VLSI design or NANO TECHNOLOGY has their own importance and you can do what you like and it is totally dependent upon your interest. But as me is concern it will be better if you go for VLSI design as it has wide scope then NANO technology. So go for the best which you like. |

Re: Is VLSI design better to do or NANO TECHNOLOGY?
Hi friend
In todays scenario you should take VLSI as a future option. It is a very popular field for electronics and communication engineer. Nano technology has not been much developed as compare to it. Likewise in field of nanotechnology there are very few companies. Hence the campus recruitment chance is decreased considerably. |
