To become a collector you have to clear ICS(Indian Civil Services) Examination conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission).

Eligibility criteria to appear for ICS exam is........

1. you need to be graduate in any discipline with at least 60% marks.

2. age limit is between 21 to 30 years.

This examination is conducted in two successive stages....

1.Preliminary exam :-It consists of objective type questions.

2.Main exam :-It consists of written examination and an personal interview.

So you can take any subject in class 11th as per your interest.

It doesn't matter which subject you choose for your career but you must have interest in that subject and try to give your best.This is the key of success.

To pass Civil Service examination you must have disciplined plan of study.

You can also join coaching centers for its preparation or can take study material of some reputed coaching centers and try to solve it at your home.

I am sorry to say that you can not become collector after 10th or 12th.
If you want to become collector than you have to pass graduation in any stream.

The I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C one in a year.
Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass graduation with any stream from recognized university.
> Must be citizen of india
> Age limit
For open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category :- 21-33 year
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year.
