For IPS, you should have to crack civil services examination being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).
The complete selection procedure for this is by -CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) -Civil Services Main Examination -Interview Candidates first have to appear for CSAT Exam. If you have qualified in this Exam, you will have to appear for Civil Services Main Examination. In, CSAT Exam, the questions will be from the following categories -Aptitude -English -General Awareness For Civil services Main Exam, you have to choose 2 optional subjects and have to appear for Main Exam on these subjects. So, I suggest you to decide upon optional subjects now itself and know the syllabus for those subjects and start preparation for the same. The minimum academic qualification with which a candidate can appear for civil services examination is by completion of Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. Here is the required age criteria to be eligible for this Exam. -A candidate of General category should be in the age group of 21-30 years. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category. Re: What should I do after completion of 12th Class in PCM from CBSE Board to become an IPS Officer?
After finishing the 12th board you will have to take admission in college for any bachelor's degree. Once you have finished the graduation, you will become eligible for the Indian Police Service.
The entrance exam for Indian Police Service is known as Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. If you want to apply for it then must complete graduation. You can pick any course you like but its always better to pick graduation course of your interest and the one which could secure your future. Once should never forget that Civil Services Examination is quite difficult and you may or may not get selected. Therefore it is very important to have a back up plan in place. Since you are doing 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Maths, I will suggest Bachelor of Technology course to you. After completing 12th you will have to appear for the Joint Entrance Exam to get admission in good Engineering college. The JEE or Joint Entrance Exam is replacement for AIEEE and IIT-JEE. JEE Eligibility 1. You should be able to pass 12th standard. 2. PCM should be the subjects. 3. There is no marks criteria. 4. You will first appear for JEE Mains. 5. Top 150,000 with go ahead to appear for JEE Advanced. 6. Please remember that JEE Advanced is conducted for admission in IITs only. Once you have completed graduation you will be able to apply for Civil Services Examination. The notification for the exam is released in the early part of the year. IPS Eligibility 1. Must be Indian national to apply. 2. Bachelor's degree in any discipline is required. 3. There is no percentage criteria. 4. You should be at least 21 years old. 5. General students can't be older than 30 years. 6. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC. 7. The relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years. |

Just work hard in the years of graduation & keep on studying the books for general studies, english newspapers & magazines like Competition Success Review or Pratyogita Darpan. Read a yearbook like Mnorama Yearbook for brushing up of the current affairs of a year. Hope you'll find it useful.. All The Best.... |
