Re: What should I do to prepare for preliminary exam of IAS? I am doing BSc in chemistry honors
Dear nice to see you that you have chosen a very good path to start your career from !
If you are persuing BSc with chemistry as a major subject of your combination then do not worry you can easily be prepared with that too. First of all you should be graduate to apply for UPSC IAS preliminary examination but remember that those candidates who have either attempted the final year/semester exams or gonna appear may also apply for this exam. Your age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years to apply and candidates belongs to SC/ST will get 5 years of upper age relaxation and 3 years for OBC candidates Two papers will be conducted in IAS preliminary examination : Paper I - General Studies 100 questions will be asked for 200 marks and each question carries 2 marks Paper II - CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test 100 questions will be asked for 200 marks You will have to qualify this test then you will be able to appear for Mains examination of UPSC IAS To prepare for this exam you should join any very good coaching institute and start giving time for preparation then only you will be able to qualify exam but before you should be strict with yourself that you are gonna fight with stiff competition therefore give at least 8 hours everyday separately for preparation of prelims then you will find yourself able to qualify this exam. The next thing you should know that revision is the key of scoring good marks in exam that is why do not leave revision of your notes that you have made or given by your coaching so keep revising Another thing is that take guidance from your senior students in coaching who have already appeared for this exam and qualified so they may guide you some better ways then you should follow them Keep in touch with latest news watch news channels buy The Hindu- (Daily News Paper), Competition Wizard, Frontline etc. to get connected with latest issues and affairs of India and the world. All the best |
