Default Re: What is sustainable development?

We can define Sustainable Development in many ways. In simple words we can define as the development which takes place taking care of future generation's requirement of resources.

Sustainable development aims to meet the needs of present without compromising the needs of future generations to meet their needs.

It aims to conserve natural resources which will extinct if used at the present rate. For example if we use coal at the present rate of consumption, coal will extinct by 2050 in India.

So, Sustainable development aims to replace the use of coal for power generation by using non conventional energy resources like Solar energy, Wind Energy, Geothermal energy etc.

The main advantages of these form of energy is that they are freely available in nature in abundance and do not pollute the environment at all. So Sustainable development cares about future generation, ecological balance and further meets the needs of present generation.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
