What type of job are available in banking sector?...lease tell me the details

It all actually depends on your qualification. If you have basic qualification of graduation degree, then you can apply for jobs like Clerk and Bank PO. Those who have completed MBA in Finance or Banking have better scope.


Banking sector also hires economists as well. Each bank has its own set of economic experts to keep an eye on the economy and help the bank take some critical investment related decisions. If you are a graduate looking for job in banking sector then perhaps the best option is IBPS exams. The Institute of Banking Personnel Services conducts two entrance exam. The names of exams are IBPS Clerk and IBPS Bank PO.


There are 19 Public sector banks that participates for both these exams. After clearing the exam you can apply for job in any of these 19 Public sector banks.



IBPS Clerk Eligibility

1. A graduation degree in any stream.

2. A diploma/degree in computers. Or you must have studied Computers/IT as one of the subjects in high school or college.

3. You should be fluent in the official language of the state where you want banking job.

4. The age limit for IBPS Clerk is 20 to 28 years.

5. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC.

6. SC/ST are given 5 years relaxation.

7. Person with Disability is given 10 years relaxation.




IBPS Bank PO

1. A graduation degree in any discipline.

2. There is no percentage criteria.

3. Age limit is 20 to 30 years.

4. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC.

5. Five years relaxation is given to SC/ST.

6. Person with disability gets 10 years relaxation.

With an age limit of 21 - 30 yrs.
There is a upper age relaxation for all jobs profile to reserved candidates.

Public banks
Private banks.

These are the jobs in public banks-

Bank Clerk
Bank PO
Specialist officer

All these jobs require minimum graduation from a recognized university.

Age criteria is - 18- 28 years for Bank Clerk
20 -30 years for Bank PO
21- 35 years for specialist officer.

Entrance exam for public banks are conducted by IBPS every year

For private banks, they recruit candidates directly after group discussuions and personal interview.

There are all kinds of job in private banks at all levels.

For clerical jobs in bank you need to write CWE exam. Which is a combined exam for clerical entry in PSU banks in India.

Banking jobs in PSU banks provide good salary, job security, certain allowances and less work load. There are lots of seats available but competition is tough as graduates from any field can apply for it.
