Re: Who was the first prime minister of Uttrakhand?
Dear Friend
Your query is totally invalid as in a democratic government like for the country the post of prime minister exists for the nation not for the states like Uttrakhand ,Bihar ,U.P etc . From my point of view your query should be Who was the first chief minister of Uttrakhand when it was separated from the Uttar Pradesh. The first chief minister of Uttrakhand was Nityanand Swami from the Bhartiya Janta Party. He was born on 27 December 1927 in Haryana. He served as a chief minister from November 9 2000 to October 29,2001. For any more details please click here The first prime minister of Independent India was Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Hope the information helps you .If you have any more query you can leave your message here All the best aashisranjan784 |

The first chief minister of Uttarakhand was Nityanand Swami (9 November 2000-29 October 2001) #The present (7th) Chief Minister is Vijay Bahuguna (13 March 2012 -to present). |

Re: Who was the first prime minister of Uttrakhand?
Hello,
There are no Prime Minister for the states but it for the country only. Every state has its own Chief Minister. The first Chief Minister of Uttarakhand was-> Nityanand Swami(from 09-11-2000 to 29-10-2011,of Bhartiya Janta Party). The present Chief Minister of Uttarakhand-> Vijay Bahuguna(from 13-03-2012 till date of Indian National Congress Party). Uttarakhand Area-> 53,484 sq km. Capital-> Dehradun. Total Districts-> 13. Total Population-> 10,116,752(as per 2011 census). As you might be well aware that Uttarakhand was earlier known as Uttaranchal when it was separated from Uttar Pradesh to become the 27th state of India on 9th of November 2000. Uttarakhand is also reffered to as the "Land of the Gods" because of the many Hindu temples in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand is famous for the Hindu pilgrimage. Good Luck. |

Re: Who was the first prime minister of Uttrakhand?
Since the Prime Minister is appointed for a country not for a particular state so your question is not perfectly designed.
In a state there is the Chief Minister rather than a Prime Minister . The present Chief Minister of Uttrakhand is Mr. Harish Rawat . Before Mr. Harish Rawat the Chief Minister of Uttrakhand was Mr. Vijay Bahuguna Also the first Chief Minister of same state was Mr. Nityanand Swami . The first Prime Minister of India is Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and the present Prime Minister of India is Mr. Narendra Damodar Das Modi . |

Re: Who was the first prime minister of Uttrakhand?
In India ( largest democracy of the world). The Prime minister is elected as the head for whole country .He is elected by the MLC who are elected by the people of their constituency.
Whereas in different states of India Cheif Minister is considered as the head. They are elected by MLA .These MLA are elected by citizen of their area. The present cheif minister of Uttrakahand is Mr. Harish Rawat of INC. The present prime minister of India is Narendra Damodar Das Modi of BJP.Earlier he was the cheif minister of Gujarat. So your question is wrong. |
