Aligarh Muslim University(AMU) was formed before Independence to provide good education specifically for muslims and it was founded by Syed Ahmed Khan.

Syed Ahmed khan is an architect.

It seems that MAO was the formed in 1875 and later it renamed as AMU in 1920.
