West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination

There are many Government run as well as self-financed institutions in West Bengal offering degree in Engineering, Medical and Pharmacy. This includes top rated colleges like Jadavpur University, BESU, Jalpaiguri Engineering College, Kalyani Govt. engineering college. Admission to there institutions is taken through WBJEE. However, it must be noted admission to government engineering and medical colleges/universities is open to only domicile of this state. Candidate or their parent should be permanent resident of West Bengal for more than 10 years.

• Applicant must obtain at least 50% marks in 10+2 examination.
• For reserved category candidates minimum marks should be obtained is 45%.
• Candidates must be 17 years old. And age should not exceed 24 years.

One can choose to give either of engineering or medical entrance test or combined test. Both are taken in same day. For engineering, paper combination will be Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For medical it is Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Mathematics and Biology papers contain 100 marks each. Physics and Chemistry papers is of marks each. You do not have to worry about language of question paper. Because both Bengali and English version question will be given to you. You can answer 20 marks of objective question in Bengali or English according to your choice.
