Detailed information about Indian Engineering Service?


SIr,
i really want to become Indian Engineering Service Officer.
But I don't know anything about it.
Can you please give me some brief details of IES?
please give me immediately

To become an Indian Engineering Services Officer, you need to appear for IES examination which is conducted by UPSC every year. Following is the eligibility criteria required to appear for IES examination is mentioned below :-

1. Nationality :-
--> You must be a citizen of India.

2. Educational Qualification :-
--> You must have completed at least Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent from a recognised university to be eligible to appear for IES examination.

3. Age Limit :-
--> You must be in between 21–30 years of age as on 1st August of the year of Engineering Services Examination. Age relaxation is applicable to reserved category candidates as per government rules.

Selection Procedure :-
1. Written Test
2. Personal Interview

Candidates who qualify in Written test will be called for Personal Interview and the candidates who perform well in the Personal Interview round will be finally selected into the Indian Engineering Services.

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination.

If you have completed bachelor engineering degree course then you are eligible to apply for IES Examination but your written exam subjects are -CIVIL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING. You can choose any one subject from above mentioned subject. M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering are also eligible for IES Exam. Final year student are also eligible for IES exam.

The applicant age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

SC/ST = 5 years
OBC =3 years
PWD =10 years
Ex-Servicemen = 5 years

IES stands for Indian Engineering Service and this exam is a part of UPSC exam(Union Public Service Commission) and is conducted for candidates to join in Engineering organizations.

ELIGIBILITY NEEDED:

# The candidate should have a Citizenship in India as per the Nationality standard

# The age limit needed for the exam is that the candidate should have 21-30 years and this is for General category candidates.

# The age limit needed for SC/ST candidate is 21-35 years and for OBC candidate is 21-33 years.

# Regarding the education qualification needed it is that the candidate should have completed a Degree in Engineering/Technology in :
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering

If you satisfy them all then you can apply for the IES Exam.

The exam consists of of Preliminary Exam and Personality Test.

UPSC conducts Engineering Services Exam and candidates who have got a B.Tech degree from an AICTE approved colleges can apply for it.

The exam is conducted for following streams and you can choose any stream according to your B.Tech degree. The syllabus is different for each stream and you have to prepare according to it.

1. Civil Engineering

2. Mechanical Engineering

3. Electrical Engineering

4. Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering

The age limit for this exam is 21 to 30 years for General category candidates. There is age relaxation available for reserved category candidates.

1. SC/ST: 5 years relaxation

2. OBC : 3 years relaxation

3. PH: 10 years relaxation

The selection is based on the written examination and personal interview.
