Respected Sir, can I know the job role of Excise Sub Inspectors in Bihar Police? I have applied in Bihar Police recruitment and now I want to know about the job role as well as the pay scale for this particular post under this recruitment.

There are so many jobs roles given to Sub Inspector of Excise in Bihar Police because this is the post related to civil security and other important parts of the society such as tax and customs so you must know various roles of Excise Sub Inspector :

** Classification and Assessment of various types of tax such as GST, and customs related work then present the complete file and data to higher authority or Central Excise Inspector.

** Everyday duties and general work related to filing, drafting, reporting and conduction of proper presentation of completed work in a day.

** Preparation of files of any permission asked by civil or other government authorities related to fresh units.

** Excise Sub Inspector is also responsible to report to the Income Tax Officer of the district if given any duty in the police station regarding any individual or authority.

** Taking care and monitoring and supervising of goods imported and exported from one area to another area or one district/state to another district/state and checking every single piece of supplying goods carefully.

** Monitoring the goods manufactured in the area of the duty and checking whether they are legal as per license or not and if meeting all the standards then checking the quality of the material and product as well.

** Excise sub inspector is also responsible for stopping and preventing of illegal goods imported and exported in the area means prevention of smuggling in the service area.

** As you must know that this duty is not limited to Bihar Police Only, an excise sub inspector is responsible to accept work from central board of excise and customs so he/she has to complete different tasks given by CBEC.

** Detection of offence against excise and customs

** Checking and monitoring of licensee's accounts, examine the weights and measurement in use of excise and opium shops.

An Excise Sub Inspector may also be given some ground level duties like other SIs working in a police station if required means if any situation is out of control in the civilians then Excise SIs can also be posted in that area.

Since candidates after selection will be recruited as an SI in Excise department there role is in the ambit of excise department.

The pay scale will be 9300- 34 800 with grade pay.

The examination will be conducted in three stages and have to qualify in all the stages of examination for final selection.
