Is it possible to become a District Collector after MBBS?
I am aspiring to become a District Collector. I have done MBBS and therefore wants to know if i can become a District Collector with this qualification or not?

Yes, it is possible to become a District Collector after MBBS on the condition you haven't crossed the maximum age limit to apply for Civil Services exam.
Anyone who aspires to become a District Collector has to write the Civil Services exam conducted by the UPSC. Eligibility criteria for Civil Services exam are as mentioned below:- -Any graduate candidate from a recognized university can apply for the exam . -Age limit should be in between 21 years to 32 years for open category candidate , 21 years to 35 years for OBC candidate and 21 years to 37 years for SC/ST candidates. Selection procedure consists of three stages,namely; * Preliminary Examination * Mains Examination * Personal Interview. |

Yes, it is possible to become District Collector after MBBS.
Candidate have to pass Civil Service Exam in order to become District Collector. Candidates who complete more than 5 years as IAS officer are appointed as District Collector. |

Yes, it is possible to become District Collector after completion of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
The academic requirement for Civil Services exam for becoming district collector is bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. So after MBBS, you can apply for the Civil Services exam. When you will clear the various stages of exam like preliminary, mains, interview, you will be selected for the IAS if you are among top ranks. Then after training and some years of service as Deputy collector, you will be posted as District collector. The age limit is 21-32 years. |

Yes you are eligible to become the district collector after MBBS course. To become a district collector the candidates have to qualify in the civil services examination.
Civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC every year. The required eligibility to appear for the examination is candidates must have passed the graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university also the age must be between the 21-32 years. So you can appear for the examination in the next year as the application and the first stage examination for the 2015 is over. The application form for the next year examination will be available in the month of April. For more information about the examination visit at the www.upsc.gov.in. |

MBBS stands for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and it is equivalent to the graduation. So you can appear for the Civil services examination to become the collector.
The eligibility to appear for the examination is :- * Candidates must have passed the graduation from any recognised university. * Candidates age must be between the 21-32 years and relaxation in the upper age limit for the reserved category. So you can appear for the examination as there is no limitation on the discipline and the aggregate of the graduation. The application for the 2016 examination will be available from the April 2016.
