NTPC recruitment process is through GATE exam now. It shortlist students through GATE exam , who are then called for Interview and GD.

There are some eligibility which you must fulfill before you apply for NTPC :
You should be either in final year or passed out Btech student
You should have 65% in Btech , there are relaxation for SC/ST/PWD
Mtech candidates can also apply but should have minimum required marks in Btech.
You should have NOC if you are already employed in govt sector/PSU.

In the final recruitment , 85% weightage is given to GATE score , rest 15% for Interview & GD.

NTPC application process will start in Jan, but should have applied for GATE 2015 exam.

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited is the largest utility in the country. They recruit students for position of executive trainee in various disciplines.

Eligibility:

Age limit should be below 27 years as per GATE. And you should have Bachelor’s engineer degree with 65% marks in electrical engineering/ mechanical engineering/ instrumentation engineering/ electronics engineering in recognized university.

Selection procedure:

Students will be shortlisted on the basis of GATE score and then final selection will be done on the basis of group discussion and personal interview.

Generally the notification will be in the month of December/ January and the exam will be in the March / April month.
