No. You must have completed post-graduation degree with at least 55% of marks from any recognized university or institute and you must qualify National Eligibility Test (NET) to get eligible for the post of lecturer in a government college.

To become a professor/ lecturer un a government college, the foremost requirement is to have PG degree.

And after clearing UGC NET JRF in any subject , one becomes eligible for the designation of lecturer at any university across India.

In some streams one has to qualify UGC or CSIR NET or have a degree of PhD and in some cases both with work experience.

Lecturers post need both academic qualifications and experience to qualify for this profession. The more qualifications you have the better chance you have of getting hired. At a minimum, you need an honours degree. To become a lecturer in the government sector you need to pass the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET). The educational qualification required to apply for UGC NET is a candidate must have passed a Master's degree with a minimum score of 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
