I need to know the test pattern for NIC exam and syllabus too for Scientific Officer for Information Technology

NIC stands for National Informatic Center, which recruits IT scientific officers through a entrance examination. The examination pattern is given below.

1. There will be 100 objective type questions and the examination duration will be of 2 hours.

2. There will be 2 sections. First section will have 75 questions of 1 mark each and other sections will have 25 questions of 3 marks each.

3. The questions paper will carry 150 marks. There will be negative marking which will be 1/3rd for each wrong answer.

The syllabus will be according to the GATE syllabus for Information Technology. The questions mainly are from following sections.

- DBMS
- Operating System
- Software Engineering
- C and C++
- Computer network
