You are eligible to give your first attempt in 2023.
The minimum age limit is 21 years as on 01st August of year of appearing for the examination. So, you are not eligible to appear for the examination in 2022. Maximum 6 attempts for general category candidates. For more information visit at www.upsc.gov.in. |

Re: What is the lower age criteria to apply and write the UPSC examination?
The lower age limit for appearing in the Civil Services examination held by UPSC (and hence often known as UPSC Examination) is 21 years as on the 1st August of the year in which the examination is being held.
So, being born on 13th November 2001, you are not eligible to appear in the Civil Services examination 2022 as for appearing in the same examination, you are required to be at least 21 years old by 1st August 2021 which is not possible. Also, the maximum number of attempts allowed for qualifying the same examination is Six (06) in case of General and EWS category candidates while it is Nine (09) in case of OBC category candidates. Also, there is no limit on attempts for SC/ST category candidates. For complete details regarding the Civil Services examination, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in. |

Re: What is the lower age criteria to apply and write the UPSC examination?
No. Because, the minimum age to appear for IAS Exam is 21 years. This means that the candidate must have at least 21 years of age on 1st August of that given year when the exam is held. Then you have to apply the UPSC examination.
