Re: Eligibility to become DSP in Police department? Which all exams to pass?
Every state conducts its State Public Service Commission examination (also called State Civil Service Examination sometime) in a similar fashion as that of UPSC and through this examination appointment is done for the post of DSP, SDO, BDO etc.
The necessary and sufficient academic qualification required for all such examinations, is Graduation but no restriction as per percentage of marks so you are academically qualified for the exam. The upper age limit for the exam may vary from state to state from 30 to 35 years. The maximum number of attempts too, may vary from state to state but it will not be less than 4 anywhere. The reservation criteria for SC, ST and PWD candidates are as per central government norms. The syllabus and pattern of the exams is almost same in all the state pcs exams. All exams do have similar pattern of conducting Preliminary Exam for primary screening followed by subjective Main Exam and Interview. Refer the respective State PSC website as given above. Re: Eligibility to become DSP in Police department? Which all exams to pass?
DSP stands for Deputy superintendent of Police.
One who wishes to become a DSP have to appear for a open competitive examination conducted by State Public Service commission or Union Public Service commission. Eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as under :- -The candidate must have citizenship of India. -The candidate should have passed graduation in any discipline from recognized college or university. -The candidate age should be in between 21 years to 32 years for general category.Age is relaxed for OBC by 3 years and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. -The selection procedure consists of three stages, namely; * Preliminary Examination (Objective Type), * Mains Examination (Conventional Type), * Personal Interview & Group Discussion. |
