What is the maximum age limit for getting into public sector?


As a central government worker what is the maximum age limit to getting the job from public sector ? Can you please let me know the minimum criteria which is required? Awaiting for your response to take the next steps based on the same.

For most of the central government jobs, the maximum age limit is 30 years, but the candidates belonging to reserved categories are eligible for age relaxation as per government rules. Following is the age relaxation for the candidates, who belong to reserved categories.
OBC - 3 years
SC/ST - 5 years

If you have completed graduation degree from a recognized university then you are eligible for central govt jobs.

Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

Age relaxation -

SC/ST – 5 Years
OBC-3 Years
People with disability (PWD) –Gen- 10 years
PWD-SC/ST -15 years
PWD-OBC-13 Years

The eligibility criteria for getting into the public sector are :

ELIGIBILITY :

* Candidates age should be between 18-35 years.

* The minimum educational qualification is the candidate should have passed bachelor's degree in any discipline from any recognized university.

* The aspirant should score 50% or above marks in their qualifying examination.

The popular public sector jobs are as here under and the required age limit for the same are given below for the general category :

Civil services jobs :- The minimum age limit for the same is 21 years where as the maximum age limit is 32 years.

Banking sector jobs :- For bank clerks the minimum age limit is 20 years were as the maximum age limit is 28 years but for the bank probationary officer the maximum age limit is 30 years and the minimum age limit is 21 years.

Defense services :- At the senior secondary level education the required age limit is 16.5 years to 19 years but for the bachelor degree holders the age limit is 19 years to 25 years.

Law courses :- At the secondary level the maximum age is 20 years but for the bachelor degree holders there is no age limit.

For other public sector jobs such as teaching or railways after the graduation the required age limit is within 21 years to 30 years .

Also except the defense services there is the provision of age relaxation of
3 years , 5 years and 10 years for OBC , SC/ST Physically handicapped respectively candidates as per the government requirements.

To join in public sector there are certain qualifications which you need to posses in order to apply and they are:

# The candidate should have a age limit of 21-30 years and there are certain upper age relaxation for other category candidate and for OBC it is 3 years extra and for SC/ST there is a relaxation of 5 years

For HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited):

# Candidate need to have a minimum 65% marks for General/ OBC and minimum of 55% Marks for SC/ST

For HPCL(Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited):

# Candidate needs to have a minimum of 60% marks for General and OBC and minimum of 50% Marks for SC/ST.

For NTPC(National Thermal Power Corporation):

# Candidate needs to have a minimum 60% marks for General/ OBC and minimum of 50% Marks for SC/ST

For BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited):

# Candidate needs to have a minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

If you satisfy all these above criteria for the exam then you can apply for the respected exam
