What qualification is required to become a District Collector?


Hi, this Laxman Rawal, my sister wants to become a District Collector. So i want to know what qualification is required for this?

Qualification is required to become a District Collector

-> Candidates must have a Bachelor Degree from any recognized University with any discipline.

-> Applicants must be permanent residents of India.

-> Applicants must be at least 21 years.

-> Applicants appearing in their final year exams are also eligible to appear for the PSC exam.

A District Collector is a bureaucrat of the Indian Administrative Service.

Minimum qualification required to become a District Collector is Bachelor's degree from a recognized college / university.

There is no restriction on minimum percentage of marks to be secured in Bachelor's degree; just pass in Bachelor's degree are eligible for the exam .

One who wishes to become a District Collector has to appear for UPSC Civil Services Exam.

Aspirants age limit to apply for the exam should be 21 years to 30 years for general category.There will be relaxation in upper age limit by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Aspirants who have passed Civil Service exams can become District Collector after experience of atleast 5 years in service.

Qualification required :

Candidate must have passed graduation in any stream from any recognised university.
There is no minimum percentage criteria.
Age of candidate must be from 21 to 32 years. Relaxation is also there as per government norms.

Qualification Required to become a District Collector:

The basic educational qualification required to be eligible for becoming a District Collector is "Graduate Degree" or Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

<> Educational Qualification: Graduate Degree Pass in any discipline

<> Name of the Entrance Test: CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)

<> To become a district collector you are required to give Civil Services Aptitude Test Entrance Exam.

<> Civil Services Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year.

<> In order to become District collector, you are required to give CSAT Examination for which the basic educational qualification required is "Graduation Pass" from a recognized university.

To become district collector, a candidate must clear the Civil Services examination which is conducted by the UPSC every year.

Civil Services examination consists of three stages:

1. Preliminary examination.

2. Mains examination.

3. Personal interview.

A candidate must be graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year candidates of bachelor's degree can also apply for the exam.

The age limit for the exam is 21-32 years. OBC candidates get upper age relaxation of three years and SC/ST candidates will get upper age relaxation of five years.
