What to study further after B.Com to become a Sales Tax Officer?


Hi, I have completed my B.Com hons. and wants to become a Sales Tax Officer. So, what should I do now? Is there any entrance which leads me to directly join Sales Tax Department or should I study further?

Eligibility criteria required to become Sales Tax Officer:

The basic eligibility criteria required to become Sales Tax Officer is given below,

Name of the job position- Sales Tax Officer

>> Candidates must have completed Graduation or its equivalent qualification to be eligible.

>> As you have completed B.Com course, I think you no need to go for further studies to be eligible as graduation alone is enough.

>> You can appear in SSC CGL examination to be eligible.

Yes, BCom student are eligible for Sales Tax Officer exam.

To become a sales tax officer has to appear for the exam conducted by SSC ( Staff Selection Commission).

Education qualification:-
The candidate should have passed graduation degree in any stream from a recognised University.

Age limit is between 18 years to 27 years.

Selection procedure:-
Preliminary Exam
Main Exam
Medical Test.

Yes, BCom student are eligible for Sales Tax Officer exam.
Sales Tax Officer exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission ( SSC).

Eligibility Criteria:-
Those candidates who have completed graduation degree from a recognised University are eligible for sales tax officer.
To become sales tax officer you have to pass Civil Services Exam conducted by the Union Public .

Your age should be in between 18 years to 25 years.
The upper age limit will be relaxed by three years for OBC and five years for SC/ST candidates.

Selection Procedure :-
Written Examination
Personality Test.

To become a Sales Tax Officer you need to clear the SSC CGL examination (The Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level), this is a national level test conducted for the recruitment of various posts. The educational qualification required is a candidate must have passed graduation/post-graduation in any stream from a recognized university. The candidate age should be in-between 18 to 25 years at the time of filling the application form.

The candidate should prepare for the SSC GCL exam or Union Public Service Commission exam to become a Sales Tax Officer in India. The candidate should have completed a graduation in any subject from any university to be eligible for this post.

A salary of 45,000 or above will be offered to you.

1. Visit the website of UPSC or SSC GCL and apply for the exam.

2. You need to pass one of these two exams to get qualified for the post of Sales Tax Officer.

3. You must be minimum 21 years or above.

4. You must be physically fit.

5. Good communication skills is required.

To become a sales tax officer you need to be graduate in any discipline from a recognised University.
You have to appear in the SSC CGL examination that is conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year and the minimum age is 18 and maximum should not exceed 27 years.
Relaxation in upper age limit is provided to reserved category students that is 5 years to SC/ST students and 3 years to OBC students.
