KAS stands for Karnataka Administrative Service

This exam is being conducted for recruiting candidates to the various civil services across the state.

For applying for this exam the candidate need to satisfy the Eligibility criteria which is needed for the exam and they include such as:

• Nationality
• Age Limit
• Education Qualification

To be descriptive about these criteria it is that:

# The candidate appearing for the exam must be a Citizen of India as per the Nationality standard framed for the exam

# The age limit needed for the exam is 21-35 years.There are certain upper age relaxation for other category candidates.

# The candidate who belong to SC/ST should have a age limit of 21-40 years.

# For OBC candidate it is 21-38 years and for Physically challenged it is 21-45 years.

# The Education qualification needed for the exam is that the candidate applying for the exam must have completed a Degree from a recognized university with a fair percentage.

There are certain number of attempts which are allowed for the exam and they are 7 for BC and 5 for General candidates and for the SC/ST candidate there is no limit.


If you satisfy them all then you can apply for the KAS Exam.

The exam consists of 3 stages:

> Preliminary Exam

> Main Exam

> Personality Test


# The Preliminarry Exam has 2 papers:

General studies
Mostly as CSAT paper2

# Mains Exam:

Optional Subject 1: Paper1 and Paper2
Optional Subject 2 : Paper1 and Paper2
General studies paper : Paper1 and Paper2

# Compulsory English and Compulsory Kannada

Is it necessary to be a domicile of the state to appear for the state psc exam
