Candidates who have completed 12th standard with above 50% marks are eligible for AIPMT exam but your 12th standard subject should be Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. For SC/ST candidate this percentage is reduced to 40%.

Your age should be in between 17 to 26 years.

Basically there is no particular attempt limit to appear in AIPMT Entrance Examination. Since there is no certain number of attempts allowed, I am sure you can give AIPMT Entrance examination any number of times. Yes, you can take a year gap after 12th Class and then can appear for AIPMT Entrance Examination. When you attempt any exam without sufficient preparation, you are bound to get failure because this is era of competition and for limited seats, lacs of candidates appear for exam.
