What is the minimum eligibility criteria required for graduation to become an IAS officer?


What is the minimum marks to be taken in graduation to become an IAS officer? Can you tell me what would be the minimum complete criteria they will ask for? I just wanted to prepare for it accordingly. Looking forward to get the answer soon.

No minimum percentage is required to appear in IAS examination. Candidates who have completed Graduation or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university are eligible to appear in IAS examination which is conducted by UPSC every year. Eligibility criteria required to appear in IAS examination is mentioned below :-

1. You must be a citizen of India.

2. You must have completed Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university.

3. You must be in between 21-30 years old. Upper age relaxation is applicable to reserved category candidates as per government rules.

4. You must be Physically fit as per physical standards mentioned in the UPSC IAS examination notification.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. IAS exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. IAS exam is conducted one time in a year.

If you have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university then you are eligible for IAS exam. This exam doesn't require any percentage marks in graduation degree.

Age criteria:

For General: 21 to 30 years
For OBC: 21 to 33 years
For SC/ST: 21 to 35 years

No. of attempts:

For General: 3
For OBC: 7
For SC/ST: No Restriction

Selection process for IAS exam:

1)Preliminary test
2)Mains exam
3)Personal interview

Candidates who have completed their graduation in any discipline can apply for IAS exam, which is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission). So, if you have completed your graduation, you can apply for IAS exam.

Eligibility Criteria:-
1. Candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. Candidate must have completed his/her graduation from a recognized university.
3. Candidates age must be above 21 years and below 30 years, whereas candidates belonging to reserved categories are eligible for age relaxation as per government rules.

Minimum eligibility criteria required for graduation to become an IAS officer :
  • There is no minimum percentage criteria in Graduation.
  • Candidate just have to pass graduation in any discipline from any recognised university.
  • Age of candidate must be from 21-30 years. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC and 10 years for Physically handicapped is also there as per government norms.
  • Candidate must be citizen of India

Minimum Eligibility Criteria Required to become IAS Officer:

To become IAS (Indian Administrative Services) Officer, you are required to write CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year. You are required to qualify Civil Services Prelims Examination, Main Examination and Interview in order to become IAS Officer. Here is the detailed Eligibility Criteria required to become IAS Officer,

Educational Qualification:

>> Degree of a Recognized University or equivalent

>> Candidates who are appearing their Final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for Civil Services Prelims Examination.

>> There is no Certain minimum percentage is required in order to be eligible, so candidates must have PASSED the qualifying Examination.

Age Criteria: (As on 1st August of the year of Exam)

>> Minimum Age - 21 years

>> Maximum Age - 30 years

>> Certain Categories of persons as specified in the Commission's Notice as published in Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar are eligible for age relaxation.

IAS i.e Indian Administrative Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission once in a year. To become an IAS officer, you need to crack the Civil Service Examination. Civil Service Examination is divided into different levels and they are preliminary examination, main examination followed by personal interview.

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate should have completed graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification. There are no percentage criteria to apply for IAS examination. The candidate age should be between 21 years and 32 years as on 1st August of the year of examination. Upper age limits are applicable for reserved categories. Five years relaxation is applicable for reserved categories and three years relaxation is applicable for reserved categories.

This year notification has been already released. Last date for receipt of application is already closed. Next exam notification will be published in the month of May or June in the official website of UPSC as well as Employment News Paper. More details, visit the official website: www.upsc.gov.in

The eligibility criteria for this exam are as follows :

The final year students can also apply for this exams.

I.A.S stands for the Indian Administrative Service and the examination for the recruitment on these posts are conducted by the UPSC as the Civil Services examination.

The examination is among the toughest of all the other examination and every year several lakh candidate dream but finally 1300-1500 make it true.

The eligibility to appear for the examination is :-
* Candidate must have passed the graduation from the recognised university.
* Candidate age must be between 21-30 years and there is relaxation for the reserved category candidate as 3 years for the OBC and 5 years for the SC/ST.

There is no limitation on the discipline of the graduation and as only passing percentage is required to become eligible.

The application for the 2015 examination is closed and the examination are conducted in the three stages as the :-
* Preliminary.
* Mains.
* Interview.

So you have to wait for the nest year to appear . But you need to work hard to get the success in the examination. So from now start your preparation go through the NCERT books and newspaper.

IAS is the short form of Indian Administrative Services. If you want to become IAS officer, you must appear for the Civil Services examination.

Union Public Service Commission conducts this exam. The minimum qualification required to appear for this exam is bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Even if you have passing percentage of marks in graduation,you can apply foe the exam. The age limit is 21-32 years and upper age relaxation applicable to reserved category.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS Officer which is the highest civilian post in our nation one has to clear the Civil Services examination with rank within 100.

Civil Services Examination are held by Union Public Service Commission once every year and the minimum qualification required for appearing in the same examination are as following :

--> You must have the nationality of India.

--> You must have a bachelor degree with any stream from a recognized university. The marks in the same degree does not matters.

--> Your age must be with 21 years to 30 years if you belong to general category. Otherwise there is the provision of age relaxation of 3 years, 5 years & 10 years for the OBC, SC/ST & Physically handicapped candidates as per the government rules and regulations.

The same examination is held in three stages which are as Stage I) Preliminary test, Stage II) Mains and Stage III) Personal interview. One has to clear the previous stage for moving to the next stage.

Also the number of attempts provided for clearing the same examination are different for different categories.

IAS is one of the Civil Service post and to join in this post you need to apply for the civil service exam conducted by UPSC and is held every year. To apply for this exam there are certain standards which are needed to be satisfied:
  • Candidate appearing should have a citizenship in India
  • Age limit for general category candidate is 21-30 years
  • For SC/ST it is 21-35 years and for O BC it is 21-33 years
  • Regarding the educational qualification, candidate need to have completed a degree any stream of education.
  • Even final year appearing candidate is eligible for applying for the exam

If you satisfy them all then you can apply for the IAS exam and the candidates are selected through 3 stages:
  1. Preliminary
  2. Main
  3. Interview

[B]There is no such criteria regarding percentage of graduation. One only needs to be a graduate in order to be academically eligible to sit for IAS examinations.

But, apart from educational qualification there are many more criterias that needs to be fulfilled by the candidate. The Criterias are thus mentioned below:

Eligibility:
'
. The candidate must have to complete any bachelor's degree but this degree must be completed by a recognised university.

. The Candidate must be a citizen of india

. Final year exams appearing candidates can also eligible to apply


Age Criteria:

. For General candidates age limit if from 21 years to 30 years

. For OBC candidates age limit is from 21 years to 33years

. For SC/ST candidates age limit is from 21 years to 35years


Selection procedure:

. Civil services preliminary examination

. Civil services main examination

. Personal interview


Number of attempts:

. 4 times for General Category Candidates,

. 7 times for OBC Category Candidates,

. No limit mentioned for SC/ST Category Candidates
