I have done MCA from Sikkim manipal university in distance education. I have to do Ph.D in IT or CS. so,after MCA in distance mode can I pursue my career for Ph.D in computer science or IT & from where I can do it? Basically I m living in Mumbai.

Eligibility to pursue PhD in Information Technology:

A candidate must have done masters degree in computer application of computer science or information technology in computer subject. It is compulsory that a candidate must have studied computer subject at master level to pursue PhD in computer.
So you are eligible to pursue PhD in computer science or information technology as per your interest.

I am happy to tell you that you can definitely opt for Ph.d course in Computer Science or IT after the completion of MCA, there is no problem in it.
Candidates those who have completed their MCA degree from a recognised University with a minimum of 55% of marks in it are eligible to opt for the Ph.D course in Computer Science or in IT.

MCA from distance learning course are eligible for Ph.D course in Computer Science.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks are eligible for Ph.D course.

There are no age criteria.

You must have a valid GATE/UGC NET score card.
