I want to appear Ph.D course in English. But I can not get the information about it. Can you please guide me with the required details on the same? It would be really helpful if you can answer me back soon on this. Awaiting to get the response.

PhD in English is a 2 years doctorate degree course which can be pursued after completing master's degree in English with minimum 50% - 55% marks from a recognized university. Most of the universities conduct their own entrance examination to select the eligible candidates. M.Phil/NET qualified candidates shall not be required to appear for the examination and can get direct admission. Here are some of the universities offering the PhD English:

The basic educational qualification required to be eligible for pursuing this PhD in English course is,

@@ M.Phil Degree or else Master's Degree in concerned stream with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university.

@@ If you are done with Master's Degree in respective stream, then I can say that you are certainly eligible to apply for doing this course.

Eligibility to do a PhD in English is a pass in a master’s degree in English with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university. Candidates have to appear for the research entrance test and interview for the admission to the PhD in English. Those candidates who have qualified NET/SET/MPhil in English shall be exempted from the research entrance test. The above given is the common admission procedure to do PhD in English.

Eligibility criteria for doing PhD in English:-

To join PhD course one has to apply for the NET examination conducted by UGC.

Eligibility criteria for NET examination:-

The candidates should have passed master's degree from a recognised institution with minimum 55% marks in aggregate.

To apply for Junior research fellowship program the age of the candidate should be less than 28 years.

In order to become eligible to undertake the study of PhD in English, candidates must at least be graduates with English as their Honors subject. Moreover, candidates having past the post graduate level are also eligible for this study.
