List of universities where I can apply for Ph.D in English if I scored less than 50% marks in MA?


I have MA in English but only 50 percentage marks . Can I do Phd in English in any of the Universities in India> Is there any recognized university in India where Phd can be done with 50 percentage of marks for P.G? Can someone please give me the information soon?

Sorry, there is no university where you can apply for Ph.D in English after scoring less than 50% marks.

Eligibility for Ph.D in English :

Candidate must have secured 55% marks in Masters degree from any recognised university.
There is no age limit.

According to UGC you must have 55% marks in your post graduation to become eligible for PH.D admission in India. There is relaxation of 5% marks for candidates who belong to reserved category.

Hence, if you have got less than 50% marks in PG then it is not possible to get admission in PH.D in India. You have to look for universities abroad for your PH.D admission where admission will be based on GRE score.
